Our purpose
Florida Rideshare Union arises through the union of several drivers in the city of Miami and Broward. The drivers who founded this union have been in this business since 2014 and some other 2015.
One of the reasons we decided to join is because we know this business well, and we know that under certain regulations it can be of great benefit to many. It is a job that can be well paid, but always understanding the costs incurred in it.
Florida Rideshare Union was created around October 2023. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to meeting, discussing important issues, studying all the problems we currently have, the ones that constantly appear and how we can fight against them.
To date, we have made progress in our fight. Mentioning some examples.

On February 7, 2024, we met with 14 Uber executives for more than 1 hour.

We have contacted every Miami legislator's office

We have contacted Ron DeSantis' office

We have contacted and maintained communication with the office of Miami Mayor Levine Cava.

We have contacted and maintained communication with the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs

We will be emailing Broward legislators in the coming weeks.
It is essential to understand that the situation with the Ride Sharing business in Florida is a unique issue. In 2017, Governor Rick Scott signed HB221-2017 into law. This law gives complete power to companies like Uber and Lyft while leaving us drivers unprotected.
Our main purpose is to fight with all possible tools and exploiting all existing alternatives or to be created. We want a change. We deserve better treatment. Furthermore, we demand respect for our time, resources, and risks.
